Ok, so I know I’m supposed to be doing something else right now but… I’m working on a writing project (that’s about a year old already), and I just wrote a scene that I just have to share right now! Okay, so those who actually read my stuff know I write Clay Aiken fan fiction. This is not much different. Clay’s best friend just got shot while trying to protect him and Clay’s sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting for news. In the meantime, some very interesting people show up in the room too… (highlight over if you want to see. In case people don’t want spoilers.)

It was a group of very familiar people. Or rather, puppets. A group of the very famous muppets came into the room. Clay’s face brightened as he saw Gonzo and Fozzie Bear, his favourites among other well known faces. He wondered what they were doing here.
“Hello Clay.” Gonzo said to him.
“Ok, that’s weird.” Clay said to himself. “The puppet is talking to me.”
“Of course I am!” Gonzo insisted in an obvious tone.
“I’m dreaming. This is a dream. Has to be.” Clay decided, sliding further down on the chair he was sitting on.
“Hey Clay, do you know what they call someone who talks in his sleep?” Fozzie asked excitedly. “A professor!”
“Boo! That’s the worst joke I’ve ever heard.” Statler heckled as though it was a knee-jerk reaction.
Clay made a face, unsure of how to react. This was the strangest thing that had ever happened to him.
“Aw, come on guys, let the man alone. Can’t you see he’s confused?” Kermit interrupted.
“Um…” Clay stammered.
“That’s my Kermie.” Miss Piggy’s falsetto informed him. “And for someone confused, you are one smoking hot guy Clay.”
“Um… Thank you. I think.” Clay replied as Miss Piggy began fawning over him. “Um… Miss Piggy, could you not do that? It’s making me uncomfortable.”
“Yeah Piggy. Let him alone. That means you.” Kermit told her. Miss Piggy reluctantly went to stand by Fozzie.
“Thanks Kermit.” Clay said. “Er… not that I’m not glad to see you guys but… what the heck are you doing here?”
“Oh well, you see, Rowlf had an incident with the piano.” Kermit began.
“It was all my fault!” Fozzie wailed. “I was trying to light his candelabra so he’d have a nice candle to play to but the piano caught fire.” he ended in a sheepish tone, twisting at his hat.
“And I tried to put it out but how was I to know the bucket was full of gasoline??” Gonzo continued in an annoyed tone of voice.
“So Rowlf’s in here for burns?” Clay clarified.
“No. He’s in here for his bruises.” Kermit clarified.
“Bruises?”
“We had to beat the fire out.” Kermit confirmed.
“Riiight.”
“What are you in here for?” Fozzie asked.
Clay felt a little sad as he replied. “My best friend. She got shot tonight. She was trying to protect me.” Clay buried his face in his hands. “It was my fault. I could have prevented it. But I didn’t and…”
All the muppets snuggled around Clay. “You didn’t mean it, did you Clay?” Little Robin asked. Clay shook his head. “I’m sure your friend’ll get all better. Than you can tell her you’re sorry and that you love her.”
“How’d you know I…” Clay began.
“Honey, we’re the muppets. That’s what we do.” Miss Piggy informed him.

“The question now is, what are you going to do to make things better?” Kermit asked.
“You think she’ll be ok?” Clay asked.
“Do we look like doctors to you?” Gonzo asked. Clay shook his head. “It’s a feeling ok. My nose picks up things. I’ve got this funny feeling and I think it’ll be ok.”
“That’s because you’ve got a cold, dumb brain.” Miss Piggy inserted. “All you feel is a sneeze.”
“No I don’t. My nose is all powerfu…ahh…ahhh…ahhhh chooo!!!!” Gonzo sneezed hard, so hard that the whole room seemed to shake and Clay fell off the couch with the impact.
“Woah, hey there Clay. You ok?” Jerome asked. Clay looked around. No muppets. “You rolled completely off the couch there. Dreaming?”
Clay rubbed his back, feeling stiff. “Yeah. A dream.”
Jerome waited for Clay to seat himself again. “The doctors peeked in. Cass is out of surgery. She’s in recovery now. She’ll be allowed visitors in a few hours. But she’s alright and she’ll be completely fine.”

Yup. That’s all for that scene. Now I have no idea what to do from here. Haha! But I want to keep the scene. I insist. I’ll work something out somehow.

Not that there’s anything much interesting to say at the moment, but I thought I’d just blog cos I always go around blog surfing and getting entertained by reading other people’s lives so I guess it’s time I returned the favour. Started carolling sessions with NUS choir. Damn tiring sia. I so have no staminar any more. And this year’s carolling isn’t even a lot. Yet. Carolling at Forum and Hilton was pretty cool. The Hilton session was fun. Why? Because there was no one there except shop keepers. Haha! All those high end shops with pretty clothes and accessories and brand names etc. So any, very low stress singing place. We were more like background music.

Saturday went over to the Marina Barrage with the girls. That was nice. The place was kinda beautiful with views of the city and the sea and nice cool breeze. Yup. Was an interesting outing though me was freaking tired because of the events of the above paragraph. Haha!

Not been doing very much this hols. Singing like heck. Think my voice is pretty much going. :p Been doing some cross stitch. It’s been going quite slow. Let me show you my latest progress:

It’s getting there. Hehe! I probably shouldn’t have drawn those lines to mark out the centre. Should have drawn it on the reverse side or something. But it’s pencil. Hopefully it’ll come off.

Been thinking about one of the stories I’ve been writing. It’s a sequel to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (link in the side, last year’s Nanowrimo story). See, I’ve been working on the sequel for a while and it was going in the direction of a slash fiction genre. Lately, I was rereading the original story. And I realised, that’s not quite how I wanted it to go. The characters in the orignal story were never this emo and I don’t know that I want them to turn so emo later on either. Thing is, I’m the kind that writes horribly emo and dramatic characters and plots all the time. This one was an exception and I kinda liked it. I still consider it my best story yet. Anyway, point is, I’m thinking hard on this and I’m not quite sure which direction to take it so my writing’s all stalled now. :p I started like one chapter of the sequel (the non-slash version) and I’m stuck cos my 2 characters are supposed to be in two separate countries now and I have no idea what to do with them. I might merge them eventually into some of the other fanfic plots I read and liked. On the other hand, the slash version, my characters are way too emo for their own good and I don’t know what to do with them. I haven’t read many slash fictions so I don’t have examples to draw from. However, that one slash fic I’ve been reading is super sweet. Buahaha! I’m a bit grossed by the pictures but, once you get past the shock of seeing those homosexual images, it’s really kind of sweet.

Talking about sweet… Jeffrey sent me a christmas card! My first Christmas card of the year! How sweet is that? Now I feel guilty for not having sent out cards. Still a week to go before Christmas. Maybe I’ll frantically write and send them off soon. (If I get round to it, O great Procrastinator that I am.)

Choir tomorrow. I feel like skipping it cos I’m plain lazy. Haha! Gots to go memorise my scores cos the session at Conrad Centennial hotel is NOT open book. The earlier songs I can but the newer ones, like “The Christmas Song”, no way!!! The harmony part is just SO so so off from the original. Maybe I shouldn’t have signed up to do Conrad after all. But then, I did Shangri-la last year and I want to see what Conrad is like. Haha! Oh well, Glenn is in the same group as me, if I’m not wrong. Maybe I can mooch off him. After all, he sings loud enough for the entire alto section.

Gotten my white dress for midnight mass. It was freaking $150. I don’t know how my mum let me get it. I mean, I looked ok in it. (I’m fat. :p) And I had to wear a belt to make it look nicer. I got the feeling this is one of those dresses I’m going to regret in the months to come. Dang. Oh well, at least, I’m sure I don’t have to squeeze into my SAC grad gown that I have clearly outgrown. I’ll have a decent dress that’s my size.

2 friends of mine have asked me about this NaNoWriMo thing. And since I’m having inspiration to write (albeit not my current fic), I thought what the heck, just join for fun. And since I needed some place to write in, why not use this place. So yeah, as you see above, there’s the link to my nanowrimo story. It’s not finished yet so don’t come asking me what happens next. The aim of this whole shindig is to write 50,000 words by the time November ends. So we’ll see what happens.
