“Soul Remedy” by NUS Jazz Band

Well, just got back from my first ever Jazz concert. Eng Kwang’s Jazz band was performing tonight at the UCC Theatre. It was fun! Haha! Not quite the kind of jazz I was expecting (loungey mellow sleepy music). Nope. Apparently jazz covers a lot of other genres of music such as the big band, swing, bossa nova, samba and even a bit of the motown genre. Geez, there was this part where this vocalist girl came out and did an Arethra Franklin medley. OMG!!!!! Wonderful pipes this girl has. Oh and the male MC came out and sang Jailhouse Rock. Yup Elvis! That was cool! He was dancing all over the stage. Love what they did with the theatre ambience too. Smoky with lots of cool lighting. They really played with the lighting.

On the whole, yup. Quite a fun evening. :D

And apparently Eng Kwang is the president of the Jazz Band. Lol! He failed to mention that when I asked if he was in the committee. Haha!

Don’t know what else to say. Hehe! Oh yeah, Eng Kwang got me real good seat. L1, practically the middle row of the theatre but in the corner, but that suited me fine cos I was by myself. And, jazz band was kinda smart to book the theatre instead of the hall cos the theatre was like 90% full and made the audience turn-out look good.

Yup. That’s all. :)
