Officially the end of the school week.

Well, there goes the first week of term. It was alright I guess. Super tired right now. :p Let’s see, the last time I updated I was complaining about…Ok, Tuesday, Psycholinguistics. Moving on. Wednesday’s Cinematic Discourse was FUN!!!!! OMG!!!! I think it might be my favourite module this term. The lecturer is older than I expected him to be. Kind of reminds me of Anne-Marie’s father. Yeah. And it’s like film studies, not like CDA as I expected it to be. Haha! Yup. Hope it all turns out ok for this one. One complaint though. His recommended readings are like super long. Ok, he says we don’t have to read it if we don’t want to, but, in absence of lecture notes and textbook, I think I should go get the readings, even if it means having to photocopy the whole book cos, well, he assigned one chapter here, another chapter there and before you know it, it’s like recommended readings from chapter1 all the way to chapter 11. Lol!

Thursday Japanese studies. (Can’t use the word Jap anymore. Dr Hislop sternly told us not to) Such a pain to type out the entire word though. Maybe I should train myself to use JS. Haha! Anyway, that was alright. Huge lecture hall full of people. There’s gonna be two other lecturers besides Dr Hislop. Omg! The Singaporean one is super b-o-r-i-n-g. She acts like a student giving a presentation. :p sucks. And hers is such an interesting topic – Japanese society. And she’s approaching it from the POV of literature. Which is sort of fun. But she is boring! I’m prepared for 4 lectures of boredom from her. Maybe I’ll bring the lappy and surf on it. Haha! The other lecturer is Japanese, talking about Japanese linguistics. As a linguist, that’s going to be fascinating.

Then, thursday afternoon, spent three hours photocopying materials for Grammaticalization and Psycholinguistics. The Psycholing one went alright. There were only two books and chapters from that. But the Grammaticalization one was crazy!!!! Dr (whatever her name is. can’t remember off hand) is so unclear in her notes and it took super long to collate the books I needed. And worse thing, cos they’re all in the RBR, so I can only take out one book at a time, me was in and out of the RBR and in and out of the photocopy room, fighting for free and usable photocopy machines. :P going back tomorrow for to get the readings for cinematic discourse. That one’ll take a hell of a long time, I can foresee.

Choir was ok. Had like mini-combined before choir where we gathered in PR1 cos aunty mary didn’t come for voice class, and sang the Nelson mass. That was fun. :D But choir itself wasn’t so good cos apparently we did badly (worse than monday) and Adyll got mad at us. Can so tell when he gets mad – his face is so readable. But yeah, I understand his frustration. Our concert is what? Almost exactly one month away and we are so far from ready. Omg!!! Who’s bright idea was it to move the concert so early anyway?? On the one hand, it’s good cos we can get it out of the way quickly. On the other hand, it’s completely crazy to have that so early. Cos it’s not like we had a lot of practice in December. We didn’t touch the pieces at all. But anyway, all my practicing last sem in the studio before choir paid off. At least I still remember like at least 80% of the music even without practice. Haha! And I’m gonna say this, I miss seeing Scott around in choir. :P Yeah, that’s like a sign of how much I’m glancing over at the tenor section. He’s so obviously sticking out among all the other small sized guys. Yeah, singing the Nelson mass reminds me of him.

Moving on, just came home from Child language. It seems to be an interesting class. Maddelena is alright as a lecturer. Grouping with Sabrina and her two juniors. But, I think I just might flunk the test. Can you imagine? First class of the first week and test already?? She calls it a pre-requisite test. 10% of the final grade. I wonder what happens if I fail it. I so suck at phonology. The second question already I don’t know how to do. But you know what, the grammaticalization presentation is like a blessing in disguise cos a question came out about polysemy and metonomy and that’s like freaking what I was reading for the presentation. So yeah, at least I have one question right.

Oh, just did GAPS. Good news I guess. I changed to the honors track. Hope it’s the right choice. Means I should be doing one more year in school, assuming that I can reach the grade. I’m so like a few points away from 3rd class honors. Which makes me wonder if I should even go do honors if in the end it’s only going to be 3rd class. Oh well. Got to do 2 more breadth modules and 8 more EL modules (7 from the 4000 level). *faints* And I haven’t even started any 4000 level modules. Gonna die next year.

Ok, enough for now I guess. The new maid’s here. Wanna bet she doesn’t last till CNY?

There are a few classes of honors. Got 1st class (which is the best), 2nd upper, 2nd lower and then there’s 3rd class (which is like the worst).

    *squish* back.
