Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat…
Well, began carolling with NUS. OMG!!!!! It’s FUN!!!! Yesterday did at Centerpoint. That place was crazy. We were singing in the little space between Hagen Daaz and the entrance so bloody blocking the passage ways. And freaking hot cos immediately behind is the display with the manniquiens. AND the manniquin display used BLUE lighting. Damn hard to see the scores. Haha! But it was nice to sing there. The ceiling was very low. Had two slots. Second slot Adyll had us stand in mixed. That was difficult! I was next to Xuefang and man, she is LOUD! More than once I found myself singing the soprano (melody) line instead of my own.
Today was fun too. Sang at Marina Sq. At least there was a proper stage for us with 4 mics. Very beautifully decorated the place was and very nice ambience to sing it. Of course, being the central atrium of the shopping mall, the ceiling was freakin high and it was hard to hear each other. Ok, I was more or less alright cos I was standing front row middle, right in front of Adyll. And it sounded alright to me. The basses gave a scare when I couldn’t hear them come in for “the most wonderful time”. And Yan Ting’s descant for “What Child is This” was distracting! Nice. But distracting.
After carolling there, went to attend Eng Kwang’s jazz band concert. Arrived just in time for the second set. Haha! I would have enjoyed it more had the chairs been dry. I was thinking daggers at them for not drying the chairs but later on I found out that it had begun drizzling/raining halfway through their first set that’s why. Well, I enjoyed it. Jazz isn’t what I always thought it was. Or rather, the jazz that I thought of (campy sleepy lounge music), is just a small segment of jazz. It was fun and I’m glad I attended it.
Esplanade waterfront is BEAUTIFUL at night! Especially when it was nice and cool and windy like just now. Not going to describe cos I’m tired. My feet hurt. Just now after singing the set, I couldn’t feel my toes. Pain!!! Don’t know how people can wear high heels all the time. Victoria Beckham for example. Have you seen her heels? It’s as if she’s got no feet the way she gets elevation. I feel pain for her. Haha!

oops! but you were loud too! hahaha
had a great time caroling with you! merry christmas and may 2008 hold great things for you… see you next year
